Greetings, Beloved Christ the King Community!
January continues with new people and new opportunities:
1. At our congregational council retreat, we elected new officers, including: President Federico Salas-Isnardi, Vice President Terri Koehler, and Member-at Large Bert Hungerford. Thank you so much for your service and commitment to CTK!
2. Meet our new Director of Congregational Engagement, Deacon Aimee Elles click here, and Director of Community Engagement, Kim Williams click here who are both ready and eager to meet you. I invite you to connect with them, and I challenge you to partner with them to offer your unique gifts in service of God's mission at CTK.
3. RIC Sunday is this coming Sunday: As a new Reconciling in Christ congregation, we are celebrating our first RIC Sunday using liturgical resources created by RIC ReconcilingWorks: Lutherans for Full Participation. Please join us for this celebration, which includes liturgy, prayers, and music written by our LGBTQIA+ siblings. ReconcilingWorks website
As January continues with new beginnings and opportunities, I invite us to find ways to learn and serve together, embracing our mission statement: Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church is a welcoming and inclusive community nourished by Christ in vibrant worship and committed to God’s mission of love and service, especially to the oppressed and needy.
Grace and peace and especially hope,
Pastor Jennifer
