CTK hosts monthly meetings of the Houston Science and Religion Discussion Group (Originally founded by CTK member Daniel Johnson) at our Rice Village campus. Meetings are held on the third Monday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the second-floor Council room.
Typically, there are 15 minutes of introductions and relaxing conversation, frequently with refreshments, followed by a formal presentation lasting about an hour. After the presentation, questions and answers are handled by the presenter of the topic, and related issues are discussed.
Presentations have often taken the form of book reviews, but they have included more general topics. Topics have included books by Karen Armstrong, Stephan Hawking, Johan Elverskog, Causation, Buddhism, Islam, Barbarism, Darwin, theology, and more. Visitors are always welcome!
