Save the date: August 17, 2025 – Special Meeting of the Congregation at the Rice Village Campus, 9:45am.

Dear members of Christ the King

Exciting developments are taking place at Christ the King! The Congregation Council is calling two (2) Special Meetings of the Congregation on Sunday, August 17, starting at 9:45 am (in between the early and late services.) The meetings will run back-to-back and, complying with our constitution, they will each deal with one single matter.

9:45 – Crossing Borders Contract

At 9:45 am, the congregation is called to vote on the contract that the Congregation Council has worked out with Crossing Borders. Our long-term tenants are a well-loved partner of our church and have long been a positive presence in our Rice Village Campus. Crossing Borders is ready to sign a new ten-year contract with mutually advantageous terms. After questions have been answered, the congregation will be asked to vote to ratify the contract.

10:15 – Norwegian Seamen’s Church Contract

At 10:15 am, a second meeting will be called to ratify a ten-year contract with the Norwegian Seamen’s Church. The Norwegian Church Abroad/"Sjomannskirken" is the international branch of the Church of Norway. The proposed term sheet is for a shared commitment to fostering joint ministry to the Memorial Drive Communities between Christ the King Lutheran Church and Norwegian Seamen’s Church within the leased premises of the Fellowship Hall and one of the offices in the office building at the Memorial Campus. We believe the terms of this agreement are mutually beneficial and will help us revitalize the Lutheran presence in the Memorial area.

After questions have been answered, the congregation will be asked to vote to ratify the contract. Information on both contracts will be available soon for the congregation to be informed ahead of the vote. However, we want you to save the date for these important votes.

Yours in Christ,
Federico Salas-Isnardi
Congregation President, 2024-2025
