August Mission Offering: Upbring

Upbring (formerly known as Lutheran Social Services) is a Texas-wide organization implementing generational innovation to advance child well-being.  They are the leaders in delivering a broad spectrum of life-restoring services that elevate and heal human beings in our communities. Intent on shifting perspectives and reimagining current systems, their work secures a future free from the damages of abuse.

WHAT THEY DO
Inspired by faith and compelled by compassion, Upbring seeks others to join them in the call to defeat abuse.  Foster care and education are at the forefront of their work, joined by other vital mission-oriented programs. With their partners, they deliver services that produce measurable progress toward five key markers of every child’s well-being: safety, life skills, education, health, and vocation.

DISASTER RESPONSE
Upbring also serves as the ELCA’s disaster response agency for our region.
