New Foundation Grant Guidelines

Grant applications will be considered for projects that support the ministry of Christ the King Lutheran Church (CTK). Grant applications will also be considered for other qualified organizations whose purposes are aligned with the strategic emphases of CTK. Grants may support:

· The acquisition or improvement of real or personal property

· The purchase of furnishings or equipment

· The development or expansion of special programs

· Congregational mission initiatives or community outreach such as programs that reduce hunger and homelessness, assist immigrants, support the sick

· New program or staff support expected to be sustained by the congregation

Grants will not be made for regular operational expenses.

Preference is given to organizations known to the CTK congregation.

Examples of previous grants:

· Scholarships for seminary students

· Houston Lutheran Campus Ministry

· Godly Play Teacher Training

· Youth trip to Peru

· Freewheels Houston support for refugees

· AMMPARO ministry for refugees

· Christian Community Service Center capital campaign and catastrophe response

All requests will be reviewed in good faith by the Board of Directors, whose determinations are final.
