I have served on council, including service as Vice-President, at our prior
congregation and found it challenging and fulfilling – both spiritually and
intellectually. For Christ the King, the addition of the Memorial campus
offers unique challenges and opportunities. I think I can bring both my
experience and my creativity to a council position as we seek to adapt
and grow.
By nature, I am a problem solver. I am a graduate of Rice with a degree
in mathematics. After taking early retirement from a career in various
technical and managerial positions in information technology, I worked
as a high school math teacher and tutor for HISD and am now again
retired. I am a life-long Lutheran and have a love of our worship
tradition, our social commitment, and our reliance on scripture. I have a
particular interest in education and have led adult bible study and
Sunday School over many years. Currently, I am serving on the
Technology Committee at CTK.
On a personal note, Linda and I have found a home at Christ the
King. We have experienced the strong sense of community, of
commitment, and of care. The relationships that we have formed have
become an important part of our lives. It would be an honor to serve on
council.
There is a place for you here.
We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God’s work in Christ’s name for the life of the world.
