Freewheels Houston (freewheelshouston.org)
Freewheels Houston collects and repairs donated bicycles, then provides them to refugees, veterans emerging from homelessness, students, and youth from low income families. Each bike offers reliable transportation for work, school, and daily needs, opening doors to greater independence and opportunity.
Volunteers of all skill levels are welcomed, from experienced mechanics to those eager to learn. Together, they create a supportive, hands on environment where service and skill building go hand in hand.
In the past decade, Freewheels has placed more than 3,000 bicycles into the community, an impact that has been celebrated citywide. Their work continues to make a lasting difference in mobility and community resilience.
