Christian Community Service Center (ccschouston.org)

Christian Community Service Center serves the poor, hungry, disabled, and otherwise needy with respect for their religious, ethnic, or cultural differences. Mission and people always come first, guiding every decision and inspiring a spirit of gratefulness and humility.

CCSC combines sound business principles with faith‑rooted stewardship, making thoughtful, prayerful decisions. Staff and volunteers strive to live the gospel by seeing the face of Christ in everyone.

Grounded in compassion, CCSC provides hope alongside tangible services through relationship‑based outreach to clients, volunteers, donors, member churches, and the broader community. Its volunteer‑centered model enables high‑impact assistance with modest staffing.

With deep respect for every individual’s dignity and beliefs, CCSC refrains from proselytizing or taking sides on public policy. It is an intentionally ecumenical community, focused on unity in Christ and shared commitment to service.

Founded in 1977 through a grassroots effort and formally established in 1980 by six Houston churches, CCSC today partners with 40 unique Christian congregations to meet urgent needs and empower neighbors across the city.
