Our Christ the King Memorial Campus has supported Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM) for many years. MAM plays a vital role in helping individuals and families in West Houston achieve stability through financial assistance, personal resource development, and disaster relief programs. They strengthen the workforce by providing employment services, literacy advancement, and immigration legal support. Additionally, they foster healthy individuals and communities through physical and mental health services, supportive community programs, and community engagement initiatives.
MAM began with the faith community standing as one to meet the needs of the poor during one of Houston's most difficult economic downturns. On December, 1981, 12 local churches and 1 synagogue responded to a call for the proposal of a coalition of Memorial Area Churches to develop a network for emergency services for families living in poverty.
