Freewheels Houston – a ministry launched by Christ the King Church in 2015 – changes lives for refugees, veterans emerging from homelessness and youth from low-income families by giving them reliable bikes to get to work on school. At the Freewheels shop, our tradition of welcome is clear even as policies regarding refugees and people living with homelessness have been weakened. We provide hardworking neighbors with an essential tool to support their families. To support Freewheels, the Scott Wizig Family Fund at the Greater Houston Community Foundation has pledged to double all gifts up to $20,000. They’ve raised 50 percent of the total.
