We want to provide a quick update about the GREAT group Christ the King had working at the Houston Food Bank this month.
Our group of 14 volunteers (including three first-timers!) played a big part on the Senior Boxes project on July 8, helping to create more than 1,000 boxes with items such as milk, juice, fruit, vegetables and canned meat for distribution to area senior citizens in need. Those 1,000+ boxes (more than 33,500 pounds of lifting for the team) will provide almost 28,000 meals to our Houston area neighbors.
Mark your calendars as we'll be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon. (And hopefully sweating just a bit less at that one!)
