Sunday, September 13 is God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday in the ELCA. In observance, the Justice Advocacy Ministry at Christ the King always holds a Justice Advocacy Event. Join us in the courtyard on Sunday, September 13 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. to take action on a variety of justice issues. All advocacy asks come from the ELCA or ELCA partners. There are multiple ways to advocate: using your phone to scan a QR code, signing a pre-printed letter, filling out a pre-printed postcard with your details, or using the computer provided to advocate. Use your hands to do God’s work of justice at the Justice Advocacy Event on Sunday, September 13, 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.!
Don’t want to wait until Sept. 13, or won’t be at church that Sunday? You can take action now to Protect Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act. A proposed change to Section 106 would weaken protections for a wide variety of historic sites, including historically black church buildings, significant tribal sites and architectural features, public parks, bodies of water, etc., while also diminishing Tribal consultation requirements, and limiting public input on development projects that impact our country’s heritage. Take action to Protect Section 106 of the Historic Preservation Act!
