Dear Beloved Christ the King Community,

May is a busy time for many in our community with travel, graduations, and lots of end-of-school year activities. Our spiritual home is no exception and so I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to participate with our CTK family alongside all of these other events.

  • Our Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod Assembly takes place May 15-17 in New Orleans where we will attend to the business of the Synod and also elect a new bishop. Please hold our Synod Assembly in prayer: God of voice, sing your new song and help us to join in. This week the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod will gather in New Orleans in assembly. Be with all voting members and all those traveling there. Give them peace and safety as they travel; grant them hope in the future for our synod and your love in this place. Help us to all remember where you have brought us from, where we are now and where you will take us tomorrow. Guide us and protect us in your love, so we might be your hands and feet in the world around us. Link to Prayer Resource A big thank you goes out to Pastor Mandy for preaching and presiding this weekend, allowing time for our rostered ministers to travel safely home.

  • This Sunday, May 18th is the last day of Godly Play and our Children’s Music Ministry Gathering for this school year. Please thank teachers, door persons, and Music Minister Amy Kerswell, for their service to our children this year. Please look for these and new opportunities (like our new confirmation compañeros) for our upcoming school year.

  • This year we have 12 high school graduates who we are blessing on Sunday, June 1st, along with college and graduate degree students. Please support our high school grads by writing inspirational messages to them on provided cards in the narthex or for our online community, feel free to send messages to Deacon Ben at benremmert@ctkelc.org.

  • Pentecost is on June 8th this year and we will celebrate by welcoming new members, sharing a picnic meal together, AND starting our new photo directory. Our last photo directory is from 2017 and so it is time. Please come with your biggest smiles!

Whether you are able to participate this month online, or in-person, or a combination of both, please continue in our spiritual home to be nurtured in Christ and in response to serve our community, through this upcoming summer and beyond.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13

Grace and peace, and even more hope!
