Dear faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:
The Congregation Council met on September 8, 2026.
President Martina Longoria chaired the meeting which included among other business:

 

  • Accepted as new members to Christ the King Church: Ashley and Douglas Burbank, Pablo
  • Jaramillo, Marla and Jason Marty, and Cassie Stinson;
  • Affirmed the election of Patricia Chapman as chair of the Worship and Music Committee;
  • Affirmed the election of Chase Hooks, Linda Marx, Nyla Woods as members of the Worship
  • and Music Committee;
  • Appointed Terri Koehler, Karli McGowen, Wendy Wiker as co-chairs for the Christ the King
  • Festival Dinner;
  • Discussed plans for the Christ the King Festival Weekend activities (November 20-22) to
  • include, in addition to the Friday Festival Dinner, a congregational Day of Service (November
  • 21) and a Festive Luncheon on Christ the King Sunday (November 22) to follow a single
  • worship service and Part 1 of the congregation’s annual meeting;
  • • Reviewed plans commencing the 2026 Stewardship Campaign – For the Joy before Us;
  • Discussed the report from the Designated/Restricted Funds Task Force; and
  • Discussed proposed Mission Offering Recipients for 2027 to be presented for congregation
  • approval at Part 1, Annual Meeting

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Congregation Council is Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

PARKING: Both of our parking lots are open and available.

Also, during Rice University’s current construction, we can access the Rice parking lots by entering through entrance 13a from Greenbriar and parking as close to the construction fence as you are able.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

STEWARDSHIP 2027

During the week of September 13, we will all receive Time, Talent, and Treasure pledge forms. Please return your pledge no later than October 25, 2026, Reformation Day.
