Dear faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:
Over the next two weeks, GT Leach Constructors, LLC, will be preparing to transfer our Rice Boulevard parking lot back to us. Please watch our Monday and Friday emails for updates. As of last week, this is the plan we discussed with their staff.
- Much of the current equipment stationed in our parking lot will be removed during the rest of this week, July 13-19, and other equipment will be brought in for the July 17-19, 2026, weekend crane removal project.
- The construction crane currently inside the new building will be removed this coming weekend, July 17, 18, and 19, 2026. This is a complex process, involving two more cranes, and will close Rice Boulevard between Greenbriar and Chaucer for the entire weekend.
- From Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 25, our Rice Parking lot will be power washed, restriped, and new directional arrows will be painted on the pavement.
- For two days that week, still to be determined, we will close the Greenbriar and Chaucer House parking lots so those two lots can also be washed, re-striped, and have directional arrows added. The gravel area behind the Greenbriar lot will remain available. We will inform everyone as soon as we know the exact days.
- On Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27, we expect to begin using all our parking areas for weekend liturgies.
As expected, this use of our parking lot will conclude after one full year. Thank you for your patience and flexibility throughout this process which our Rice Village neighbors have greatly appreciated!
Peace and Joy – and Courage!
