Dear Faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:

Christ the King Church’s ANNUAL CONGREGATION MEETING PART 1 is scheduled for this Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m., between services.

• The 2026 Budget

• The Election of Three Members of our Congregation Council

Materials for this meeting – the proposed agenda, 2026 operating budget, the procedure for the election of members of the council; and information about each candidate nominated by the Nominating Committee have been emailed to all our members. Printed copies are also available in the narthex. If you still need these materials sent to you, please contact Cheryl Gaspard, at cherylgaspard@ctkelc.org.

This is the final Congregation Meeting of 2025 and its conclusion brings to an end an extraordinarily busy year of congregation meetings and establishes our elected leadership and our financial foundation for 2026. We owe a great deal of thanks to the members of our Congregation Council, committees, and staff for bringing this year to a successful conclusion and for their hard work in preparing the way for our next year together.

Since this is the first year in many that we have a larger slate of candidates for the council (5) than council positions that need to be filled (3), I want to remind you again about how the council nominees have been chosen and how the election will take place.

• The Nominating Committee solicited and received nominations between August 17 and September 5, 2025; interviewed each potential nominee; and after prayerful deliberation provided a ballot of 5 candidates, 3 of which will be elected by the congregation to three year terms. Names, photos, biographies, and a short video have been provided for each candidate.

• Only eligible voting members  of the congregation will gain entrance into the Parish Hall to maintain the sanctity of the vote. Our congregation constitution defines voting members as “confirmed members. Such confirmed members, during the current or preceding calendar year, shall have communed in this congregation and shall have made a contribution of record to this congregation.”

• The 3 candidates receiving the most votes will be elected to serve Council for a term of three years. In the event of a tie a new ballot will be presented to determine the successful candidate from those who have received the same number of votes in the previous ballot. Four tellers will count the ballots and verify the voting results.

I urge you not only to be present for this meeting, but to pray that the Holy Spirit guides us in all we do as we seek to do God’s will, worship God joyfully, and serve our neighbors in the name of Jesus Christ.

Peace and Joy – and Courage!

Mandy
