The Congregation Council met on February 10, 2026.

President Martina Longoria chaired the meeting which in addition to preparing for the February 15th Congregation’s Part 2, Annual Meeting also:

  • Received a report about the Generosity Committee’s current stewardship campaign
  • Voted on members for Committee Class C (term ending 2028) of the Nominating Committee
  • Continued discussion about the Memorial Drive campus from its January retreat and unanimously decided:

“We are moving forward with our partnerships and development

of new ministry plans for the Memorial Drive Campus using the

resources of that Campus wisely. The plans will not include the

use of the Sanctuary for any ministry activities.”

  • Held a discussion for how Christ the King Church may leverage opportunities to increase visibility and its mission responsibilities.
  • Reviewed the Lenten Sunday Forum series which will equip Christ the King Church members with information about the designated responsibilities of rostered clergy of Word and Sacrament of ELCA congregations. These forums will be led by David Roschke, Gary Heath, George Brookover, Robert Louis (retired ELCA rostered ministers and members of Christ the King Church).
  • Reviewed the latest update on area construction and the resurfacing project of Rice Boulevard around Christ the King Church taking place between now and May 19, 2026.
