Dear faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:

Two members of our congregation, both retired pastors, will celebrate the anniversary of their ordination to the Ministry of Word and Sacrament this week. In next Sunday’s Prayer after Communion, we will give thanks to God for Robert Louis and George Brookover.

George, however, is celebrating a major ordination anniversary: his sixtieth; and we will be celebrating his wife Claudia and him at a festive reception following our 11:00 a.m. Eucharist. George’s ministry as both a parish and interim pastor and as a consultant to several Lutheran and other church bodies; and his willingness to assist and advise our pastors, including me, has not only glorified Christ but has also strengthened and built-up Christ’s Church.

Please join us as we give God thanks for George and Claudia as well as Robert, fellow members, and valiant servants of Christ.
