Dear faithful People of Christ the King Lutheran Church:

The choir is on hiatus. Our children are ready for summer camp. Our youth preparing for Germany. The church office will be closed on Friday. The color on the table is green. These are the unmistakable signs of summer. According to the song, “the livin’ is easy.”

Yet the Holy Spirit continues to work in, with, and through us, and although our “program” is relaxed, our mission continues.

• Our Congregation Council continues its work and, if all goes well, next week they will name the members of the Call Committee for our next pastor.

• New life continues among us: Next Sunday at 11:00, yet another infant will be baptized.

• New disciples are ready to join us: Beginning June 14 at 9:45, we will begin new member orientation.

• Worship and nourishment for mission continues as usual with Eucharists on Saturdays at 6:00 pm – our Contemplative Liturgy - and on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 11:00.

As we seek ways to welcome and receive more fellow disciples, I urge each of us, this coming Sunday, to attend our 9:45 am forum led by our CIC committee to help each of us be more welcoming, affirming, and mindful of the dignity of others. We have significantly improved our zoom capabilities to assure all that they can join us online live or watch the recording later.

Wherever God takes you in the days ahead, I also ask you to keep one another and our whole congregation in your prayers, asking God to continue to keep us whole and well and strong today and in all our days ahead.
