The Congregation Council met on March 10, 2026.
President Martina Longoria chaired the meeting which included:
• Council authorizing Christ the King Church’s 2026 engagement with Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM) and appointing Federico Salas-Isnardi as congregation’s interim representative to MAM’s Congregation Council.
• Engaging Griffing & Company, P.C., to file the 990T Federal Income documents for the year 2025 by May15, 2026, the filing deadline.
• Empowering the Executive Committee to meet and engage a candidate to assist Interim Pastor Derr part-time with pastoral visitation.
• Setting time between both liturgies on Sunday, April 12, to recognize Executive Administrator Cheryl Gaspard for her over 25 years of service to Christ the King Church.
• Moving the date of the council’s April meeting from April 14 to April 21 due to Interim Pastor Derr’s attendance at the 77th meeting of the Institute of Liturgical Studies at Valparaiso University with Deacon Ben Remmert and Cantor Ben Kerswell.
The council also received a report from Treasurer Christopher Bryant on the sale of the parsonage:
“The parsonage sale has been completed. As committed, in the plan of sale, approved by the congregation, the net proceeds from the sale are being placed into an interest-bearing restricted parsonage account with the Mission Investment Fund [MIF]. The MIF has been a faithful lender to [Christ the King Church] and other ELCA congregations for years, and our congregation agreed that our parsonage sale surplus would be placed with them until formal decision is taken on its ultimate use. A report to the congregation showing the final accounting of sale proceeds, offsetting costs, and disposition of net funds will be made available later in March.”
To correct a printing error (a missing page) in the 2025 Annual Report, the 2025 Budget vs Actual – 2026 Budget Detail will be reprinted and copies available on the shelving rack outside the Parish Hall.
The council encourages anyone who has yet to return their 2026 pledge card to do so as soon as possible.
