Dear Beloved Christ the King Community,
For generations, Lutherhill has been a sacred space of belonging, growth, and joy for people of all ages. Whether it's children roasting marshmallows after a day of swimming, youth finding lifelong friends and deeper faith, or adults gathering for retreat and renewal, Lutherhill Ministries continues to be a treasured extension of our life together at Christ the King.
As a ministry of the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod, Lutherhill invites all people of every generation to experience the love of Christ in unique settings and new ways. Nestled atop the rolling hills of La Grange and just blocks from the beach in Galveston, Lutherhill provides year-round opportunities for camp, retreat, and celebration. From summer camps with Deacon Ben, to family weekends and synod gatherings, our congregation has been shaped by this joyful ministry.
This summer marks Lutherhill’s 69th season of camp—a legacy nearly seven decades strong. And the spirit of welcome that defines this ministry is as vibrant as ever. At Lutherhill, everyone is welcome. This includes people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and faith backgrounds. Around the campfire and communion table alike, Lutherhill fosters a community where stories are shared, differences honored, and the love of God encountered more deeply through one another.
Each camper benefits from generous support, as Lutherhill remains committed to ensuring that no child is turned away due to cost. Every summer, campers attend at a reduced rate—and every year, it is the generosity of people like you who make that possible.
This month, our congregation’s mission offering is dedicated to Lutherhill Ministries. Your gifts will help:
Provide camp scholarships for children and youth
Support staff enrichment and formation
Fund site improvements that keep camp safe and accessible
Your support will help Lutherhill remain a place where faith is formed, community is cultivated, and all are embraced in the radical welcome of Christ.
If you feel called to give directly, gifts may be made online at lutherhill.org or by mailing a check to:

And most importantly, we invite you to join us in prayer—for the campers arriving this summer, the staff who guide them, and the sacred encounters that will unfold under starry skies and sunlit fields.
Grace and peace, and even more hope!
