Language Milestone Celebration: Sunday, January 12 at both Rice Village Worship Services (8:30am and 11am)

Join us on Sunday, January 12, at both Rice Village worship services (8:30 AM and 11 AM) as we bless families with three-year-old children (and siblings). Each child will receive a copy of Luther’s Small Catechism, a guide for parents to teach foundational prayers like the Lord’s Prayer and table grace. This annual tradition is a special way for Christ the King Lutheran Church to support parents in nurturing faith at home. RSVP to Deacon Ben Remmert by Sunday, January 7.

More about the milestone:

In the transition from infant to toddler language plays a crucial role. It is also a main factor in the shaping of the Christian faith which proclaims God to be the Word made flesh who was born first a wordless infant. We therefore recognize the Milestone of Language, which children reach somewhere along their second and third years. Families with three-year-old children (and siblings) may approach the altar rail during the liturgy to receive a copy of Luther’s Small Catechism. The members of Christ the King Lutheran Church take this annual opportunity to express their support for the important work that parents do at home and at church in the area of faith.
