Beloved Christ the King Community, Together We Bloom!
This month I attended the Institute of Liturgical Studies and participated in a workshop led by Pastor Susan Briehl entitled, "On Our Way: The purpose and practice of processing." During this workshop, my perspective on what a procession is and can be was expanded, as Pastor Briehl described life and all of liturgy as a procession. I invite you to think together with me about how we all participate in procession together on Sunday mornings. Imagine your procession starting as you wake and rise out of bed in the morning, continuing as you make your way in-person to church or to our YouTube channel to gather online with your CTK community. Then as you watch the cross process into and out of the nave, notice how you turn your body to follow the cross, maybe even bowing in reverence, and know that you are also part of that procession. We are gathered by the Holy Spirit and then we are sent out of the nave, processing out after the cross, now the body of Christ sent out into the world to be Christ in and to our neighbor through love. I will continue to share more "procession perspectives" in the weeks to come.
This week, I am so excited to introduce you to our new Property Maintenance Technician, Scott Summers who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for service to our team. Thank you to those of you who have been helping to orient Scott to our properties. Please introduce yourself to Scott when you see him and tell him how you became part of the CTK Community.
Finally, a big thank you to all of you who came to our two campus, one community, Spring Clean Up on Saturday. Closets were cleaned, property was beautified, creation was cared for, and time was shared by many. A special thank you to those of you who could not come in person, but who offered prayer support and encouragement. Your prayers embraced the event, and I am thankful for you!
Together We Bloom! Together we Grow!
Grace and peace and even more, hope!
