Greetings Beloved Christ the King community,

I am so excited to share with you a new multigenerational opportunity at our spiritual home this fall. Every third Saturday, we will offer Kids and Kin: Worship, Gather, Serve from 5:00-8:00pm

What is this?
1. Worship in a Camp-style casual service in the courtyard or parish hall pending weather
2. Gather for a shared meal and time of learning
3. Serve in variety of projects that benefit our local and global communities

We will begin Kids and Kin, Saturday September 21st at 5pm.

Parents, you can stay with your kids for part or all of the evening, or you may use this time for a variety of purposes.  Have you ever wanted to go to the 6pm contemplative service?  Or maybe you didn’t have time to go to the grocery store this week? You could take time for dinner with your partner or friend, or even take a walk or run around Rice University.

And for those of you who do not have kids, are you still invited?  Yes, we would love for you to join in and worship, gather, and serve as well.

Our educational focus for September is Baptism, as we have a group of kids who are preparing for baptism on Sunday, September 22nd.  This learning opportunity includes making your own baptism seashell to dip into water and remember your baptism.

Our service focus for September is making dog and cat treats for our local animal shelter.  We would love lots of hands to make lots of treats.

Because this is a new opportunity, we would love to know that you are coming so that we can prepare well.  Please contact Deacon Ben Remmert with how many are coming from your family, any food restrictions, and if you would be willing to bring any of the needed ingredients for animal treats.

Let’s Worship, Gather, and Serve together!  I can’t wait to see you on the 21st.

Grace and peace, and even more hope,
Pastor Jennifer
