It was said that God liberated God’s people through unbelieving emperors like Cyrus, whose Persian rule meant the end of Jewish exile in Babylon. He claimed “Son of God” status and that strange cred stills echoes. When the court theologians tried to trick Jesus to going against either God or yet another occupying emperor who claimed similar status—a status even imprinted on a coin—Jesus replied, “give what is due.” Where is God’s image today? On a coin? In political PR? In human beings? Pastoral Intern Sergio Rodriguez preaches on a text that is very well known and yet not known at all, about God’s imaging in all of us. We’ll sing and pray and be inspired again by a beautiful motet: all even in digital imaging that resonates in God, 11 a.m., Sunday, on YouTube and Facebook.
