Saturday Bulletin Sunday Bulletin
We are currently experiencing technical issues that are intefering with today’s ability to live stream worship. However, we will upload the recording of today’s service this afternoon and it will post to our YouTube and Facebook channels as soon as it’s available. Follow us on either (or both) platforms to be notified when new videos are posted.
Much will happen in worship at Christ the King Church this Pentecost weekend! We wear red for worship this weekend of May 22-23 with Contemplative Worship on Saturday, at 6:00pm and Festival Celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday at 11:00am. Pentecost is all about empowerment for life in God. Inspired by Christ’s promised Spirit, we mark the end of a chapter of ministry on this day with Pastor Duane’s and Joen’s farewell and, with the recognition of new members who have allied with Christ’s cause here over this past year, we thank God for what is to come.
The “timing” is good. We will gather with some easing of pandemic restrictions. Social distancing is no longer required; there will be no cap on attendance as we worship indoors. We still require that all wear masks indoors, however, and note that overflow seating with livestreaming in the Parish Hall likely be utilized this Sunday.
We stream the Sunday worship service for those who cannot join us physically; you can join us “live” or access the archived service any time after. To access the Livestream on Facebook, the video will automatically appear in your personal FB News Feed and on the Christ the King’s FB page when we go live; you can watch it there. You may also click on the Live tab to access all live videos. On YouTube, go directly to our YT page and you will be alerted when we are live if you’re following our page.
We note a few other protocol matters.
- Your presence in the Nave inside the camera angles indicates your permission to be seen publicly on the livestream; ushers will advise where seating will not appear on camera.
- No nursery attendant is available, but parents and children may takes breaks in the nursery.
- We welcome safe socializing in the courtyard before and after worship. Masks are not required outside, though some may, of course, prefer still to wear them.
We note that this particular Sunday a reception for Pastor Duane and Joen is planned in the courtyard. A “drive-by farewell” is scheduled from 10am-10:30am for those who otherwise cannot attend.
As you consider in-person worship, please consider your personal situation regarding vulnerability to COVID-19, including pre-existing conditions and vaccination status of yourself and your household. Vaccinations, by the way, (Moderna), will be available here at Christ the King on Monday, May 24!
Additional Sunday parking is available on the Rice Stadium lot off of Greenbriar or Rice Blvd. Press the call button at the gate and let them know you are attending worship at CTK.
