6:00 p.m. Contemplative Worship and Holy Communion
On Reformation Sunday we celebrate the Holy Spirit’s continuing work of reforming and re-invigorating Christ’s Church so that we can continue to proclaim what Jesus calls “the Truth” in an ever-changing world. We hear God’s promises proclaimed in Jeremiah 31: 31-34; Psalm 46; Romans 3: 19-28; and Saint John 8: 31-36. “What is Truth,” Pastor Derr asks in the sermon, amidst so many “alternative facts?”
This Reformation Sunday, our choir returns at the 11 a.m. service!
In addition, we’ll mark Reformation by using Luther chorales throughout the entire service! Get ready to sing A LOT!! (Luther prepared this, the German Mass, to be sung by the people in new and familiar chorales).
