Join environmentalists, animal lovers, other Christians and people of all faith/spiritual traditions in a weekly book discussion group using the book Wild Hope: Stories for Lent from the Vanishing. You may ask – Lent isn’t until 2022, why are we reading this now? While written for Lent, this book is very appropriate for the Season of Creation (September 1 – October 4). Wild Hope contains 25 beautifully-written, intimate portraits of the lives of endangered animals, the hazards they face and how people are responding to save them. The book is inspiring and awakens deep empathy. The stories do not contain any explicitly religious material, yet they are incredibly moving. Readers of all backgrounds will find this little book powerful. Join a small group to read this book from September 1 – October 4 & meet to discuss it – that’s five 900-word stories/week.
