Tim Lenz was called to Christ the King Lutheran Church as the full time Director of Youth and Family Ministry after obtaining a degree in Theology with a concentration in Youth and Family Ministry from Texas Lutheran University in May of 2006.
Tim has served in professional youth ministry for the past six years. Youth ministry is Tim’s passion and calling. He strives to equip youth to walk daily in their baptism and to live out their faith in today’s world through fellowship, weekly devotions, acts of service, and caring conversations with their peers, parents, and adults. As members of “The Village Church with a Global Mission” Tim challenges youth look beyond the narrow scope of geographical and social boundaries to find new ways in which to help and serve our neighbors.
Tim regularly serves with local Lutheran congregations and youth leaders for synodical retreats and service projects. He was elected by the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod to be a voting member at last year’s 2011 biennial ELCA Churchwide Assembly. Tim also serves as the Peru Team coordinator at Christ the King Church and keeps in continuous correspondence with our companion churches in Trujillo, Peru, helps guide the congregation in awareness and relationship with them, and leads the congregation in the annual trip to Peru each summer.
Tim enjoys running, golf, traveling, cooking, trying new restaurants, and attending many of the live arts performances in Houston. He currently is working on a MA in Children, Youth, and Family Ministry from Luther Seminary.
