Stations of the Cross – Passion Sunday
On Palm/Passion Sunday, March 29, at 10:00 a.m. the congregation including all children and youth are invited to experience Stations of the Cross presented and hosted by the upper elementary Sunday School children. This beautiful and lovingly prepared exhibit leads the visitor through the stations of Jesus’ suffering and death. The exhibit will also be available after the 10:50 a.m. service.
St. Matthew Passion – March 29, April 3
As a musical highpoint of the Lenten journey, all are invited to experience the performance of JS Bach’s monumental work, St. Matthew Passion, with our Bach Choir and Orchestra under the direction of Rick Erickson. The work will be performed on Palm/Passion Sunday, March 29 at 6 p.m. and on Good Friday, April 3 at 3 p.m. Attendance is at no charge. Free tickets need to be reserved for entry and seats at bachsocietyhouston.org. A pre-concert lecture will be offered on Sunday, March 29, in the parish hall at 5:15 p.m.
Help Make Palm Crosses (Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 a.m.)
All are invited to help the Altar Guild on in the narthex to make 400 or more palm crosses. They will be given to all worshipers on Palm Sunday to mark the beginning of Holy Week. Contact Peggy Mathis for more information about the Altar Guild.
