Come to a great Rock n Roll Party on Friday the Thirteenth, here at Christ the King. Pastor Duane’s band, The HighPatheticals, will play to raise funds for Houston Lutheran Campus Ministry. It all starts at 7:00 p.m., weather-permitting, in the courtyard. Cover charge of $20. Food provided by Hungry’s Restaurant. An original craft brew made by the CTK Young Adults will be available, as well as a good ol Texas keg and other beverages. All to support the renewed and great ministry of HLCM. Spread the word! People of all ages will have great fun dancing and grooving to the sounds of The HighPatheticals!
The HighPatheticals--who with tongue-in-rocking-cheek claim the slogan of "The Best Lutheran Rock n Roll Party Band Since Luther Nailed It!"—was founded at Wartburg Seminary ten years ago. All the members are in Lutheran ministry and hail from Minneapolis, Chicago, Rockford, San Antonio, and wherever Pastor Duane happens to be parked. They play hits from the sixties up to 2000. They don’t do Manilow or Hip Hop (!), but you will hear lots of hard driving Blues, Beatles, Journey, Dire Straits, and some original work by the wonderful Deb Lutes Vanicek. Spread the word! Bring Friends. Kick it up for a great Friday the 13th !
