CTK’s Love Your Neighbor group will continue during the summer with a more leisurely pace. We meet on Wednesdays, at 6:00 p.m. around  food and fellowship. Bring food to share, as well as a favorite beverage (Yes, wine works).

The group will continue to read and discuss work dedicated to reducing racism. We’re reading a past presidential address of a theological scholarly society, “Confessions of a White Catholic Racist Theologian”. Copies are available from Pastor Duane or Rebecca.

Beginning Wednesday, June 20, we will read The Definitive History of Racist Ideas, by Ibram X. Kendi. Contact Rebecca to find this week’s location and if you’ve any questions.

Help Build our Float on June 22
Walk in the Pride Parade on June 23
The group is collaborating with other area Lutheran churches to walk as a united Lutheran group in the Pride Parade on June 23. Want to participate? Volunteers are needed to help construct the float on Friday, June 22, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran, 3606 Beauchamp. The parade begins Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Smith and Lamar. Wear plain shirts with no logos or labels. We’re walking behind a banner and float that just identifies us as Lutherans from throughout Houston. Further details forthcoming. For now, join our walker list.
