For our fifth and final Lenten Midweek Vespers, we turn to the promise of God to be all in all. Jesus’ words of John 12 inform us, perhaps to our surprise, that Jesus means to save the cosmos, which means everybody and everything. Pastor Duane Larson reads from David Bentley Hart’s That ALL Shall Be Saved, reminding us of the Church’s teaching from the 4th century onward that God will be all in all and that this is the promise of Easter beyond our Lents. Flautist Kelly DeVany performs the Flute Sonata in E Minor by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and Deacon Rick Erickson accompanies on the organ.
