Godly Play for Children

godly play mr rogers“Godly Play is based upon the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. All they lack is the appropriate language to help them identify and express it so it can be explored and strengthened. The Godly Play approach teaches classical Christian language in a way that enhances the child’s authentic experience of God so it can contribute to the creative life of the child and the world.” (taken from the Godly Play website)

Christ the King Church uses the Godly Play curriculum to teach children ages 4-fifth grade. The curriculum is used both for activities as part of the Wednesday Night Alive program and for Sunday Church School.

All volunteers follow Safe Haven Guidelines. This is our congregation’s policies and procedures for our volunteers working with children and youth.

For information about how Godly Play is used at Christ the King Church or to volunteer to help with the program, contact Sunday School Super Intendent Marie Monroe at marie4118@gmail.com or Deacon Ben Remmert at benremmert@ctkelc.org. For more information about the curriculum go to the Godly Play Foundation.
