Confirmation class is generally taught for students in grades 7 and 8, though special circumstances regarding when a student begins the curriculum may be accommodated. One teaching year focuses on Bible study and the other is organized around Martin Luther’s Small Catechism so that students may learn more about the Lutheran understanding of the Christian faith and tradition. The main parts of Luther’s Catechism are memorized. First year and second year students are taught together. New students are welcome anytime. Please contact Deacon Ben Remmert.
The curriculum leads to the public Affirmation of Baptism in a celebrative Confirmation Sunday service in May of each year. We primarily use Martin Luther’s Small Catechism to teach our youth the language of their faith for first year instruction and second year is our study of scripture. Sunday Church School offers to our students opportunities to learn about the Lutheran Church, the Reformation, World Religions, and studies of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
