Life is full of meaningful moments. Celebrating milestones helps bring an awareness of God’s presence into our homes and congregation, and highlights the rituals of daily life experiences. In our society, retirement is a recognized civic and personal milestone in the life of an individual. It signifies a major life transition, impacting the retiree as well as all those around him/her. We will celebrate the Milestone of Retirement in our worship on May 1. If you have retired during the last two years (or are planning to retire in the near future), please let us know at Beverly Davis so that we may celebrate this important life transition with you.
We all experience the grief that comes with losing someone we love and with that grief comes the journey of mourning. Beginning Thursday, January 16, 2014 Christ the King will offer this eight week support program facilitated by Beverly Davis and Linda Schoene. The sessions will be held on eight consecutive Thursdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at CTK. The cost for materials is $75. Participants will have the opportunity to share their journey with others and discover that while their pain is unique they are not alone, Christ is present with those who mourn and there are tools for moving forward while honoring their loved one. If you are interested in joining the group please contact Beverly or Linda to determine if this group will meet your needs.
