Maundy Thursday Worship

On Maundy Thursday we begin the celebration of the Three Days. On Thursday we remember Jesus sharing the last supper with his disciples before his betrayal and arrest in the Garden Gethsemane. The service will include confession and absolution, readings, a homily for the day, Holy Communion, and the stripping of the altar.

On Friday we continue the Three Days with the reading of Christ’s passion from the Gospel of John, the Bidding Prayers, Adoration of the Cross, and Solemn Reproaches.
Holy Saturday: Easter Vigil Vespers (The Supper, Fervent Thanksgiving)

Join us in the nave for our Easter Vigil. A variety of languages is used in the chants, including English, Latin, Spanish, and Greek. There will be no Holy Communion because we are holding vigil before the Easter celebration.
Holy Saturday: Canonical Hours

The Canonical Hours mark the course of Holy Saturday, every three hours. This year they are prayed in the comfort of worshipers’ homes. All are invited to participate. Canonical Hours are short prayer times consisting of readings, a psalm, and prayer. A hymn is appointed to each prayer hour which can be read or sung as desired.The Canonical Hours commence Saturday at midnight, 12:00 a.m., and end at 6 p.m. before sunset.
Those who like to participate online may join via Zoom for each canonical hour: 12 a.m., 3 a.m., 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 12 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m.
