Summer Creation Education: Nature and Microbes

Nature Art
Sunday, August 1, 10:00 a.m.
What do painted sticks and seashell necklaces have in common? They’re examples of nature art! All ages are invited to join Irmi Willcockson, Master Naturalist, to learn a little about nature as we make art using sticks, seashells, and other materials.

Microbes in God’s World
Sunday, August 15, 10:00 a.m.
The Coronavirus has microbes on everyone’s mind. But, bacteria, Fungi, Viruses – They are EVERYWHERE and have always been everywhere. Everyone gets colds and other infections, but did you know that most microorganisms are harmless? If fact, many of them actually help us stay healthy and enrich our environment. Come and learn about the “Good Guys” of Microbiology with Professor Terri Koehler!

We Need your Help Putting Together Godly Play Stories

Sunday, June 20 at 10-10:45 a.m. in the parish hall
No Godly Play or craft experience required.
Whether you are young at heart or wise in years, or somewhere in between, we need your help putting together miniature Godly Play stories for children and their families at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. Everyone is welcome!
All the supplies to create the mini stories will be provided. These stories will be shared by chaplains trained in Godly Play and given to patients and families as a way of caring for them while they are in the hospital. These parables are a beautiful way to create space for meaning-making, wonder, and play in the hospital setting. Our goal is to create 100 mini parable boxes in June together!
*No Godly Play or craft experience required. There will be art supplies available for small children to join in the fun as well. A great way to earn service hours.
We hope to see you there!

Rally Day Sunday School Kick Off August 25

Join us for breakfast tacos in the courtyard and the start of our new Sunday School year. Sunday School classes are offered for children age 2 through high school.

All students then have class pictures taken, while parents go to the classrooms to meet the teachers and register their kids. While parents are in class, the children have fun and play games in the courtyard. You may contact Pastor Liebster or Deacon Remmert with any questions regarding Sunday School or Confirmation class.

Breakfast Tacos and Sunday School Kick-off

Fall 2018: through November 28
Christ the King Church comes together every week of the school year for Wednesdays@Church or W@C. All activities are centered around dinner together. There is music for children and parents, singing for children, classes and music for adults. With dinner at the center there is ample time to make and meet friends.
Activities and Schedules

Children’s Time on Sundays – Adults, peak in!

This week all children will spend their time working on the Lego Luther Rose and other projects, and will finish with a feast. Anyone who is curious about the Godly Play feast is welcome to join us at 9:45 a.m. in room 212. Our goal is still to finish one row each week in the giant Lego Luther Rose.

Stop by the Crafts Workshop!
A local church was just about to begin a Godly Play program when Harvey totally destroyed their building and all their Godly Play items. They are determined to begin in the fall in their temporary quarters. We are helping to make lesson materials for them, so all who can help paint items, cut felt, nail and glue wood, etc. are invited to stop by our “shop” in room 212 at 9:45 on Sundays. It would be helpful to contact Marie Monroe at to schedule the larger projects.
