Are You Interested in Membership with Christ the King Church?

We’ve necessarily been on a “hiatus” during this season of COVID regarding special in-person worship occasions like baptism, weddings, funerals, and other special events. While we have carefully moved toward conducting more of such occasions, we are mindful that many have expressed a desire to join as members or associate members of Christ the King Church. And some have joined without the public recognition we normally would celebrate.
If you are in either of these groups, take note that on May 23 – Pastor Duane’s final Sunday at CTK – we will receive and recognize new members at the Sunday service. What a grand statement that will be! Continue reading

New Position of Director of Communications

Christ the King Lutheran Church welcomes applications for its new position of Director of Communications. Experience in print journalism, public relations, design, social media, and videography production required. This is a full-time position with benefits. Apply by emailing a package with (1) a cover letter describing interest and background, (2) resume, and (3) portfolio of work samples. Special Congregational Meeting on January 31, 12:00 p.m.

Sunday, January 31, immediately after outdoor worship (shortly after 12 p.m.)

Following the outdoor worship on Sunday, January 31, the council has called a special congregational meeting to consider the council’s recommendation that Beth Hartfiel be called as Deacon for Church Administration. Beth is our church business administrator.  The meeting will be brief. Some opportunity will be available for Q & A. Come attend a celebrative day. If weather does not permit our gathering then, we’ll reschedule for the following Sunday.

Greetings to you in the name of our Risen and Healing Lord, Jesus Christ! We pray that this letter finds you as well and whole as can be in these challenging days. We write to inform you of positive developments and opportunities as we begin to think about returning physically to our church campus. This is a necessarily long letter. Pastoral Letter: March 17, 2020

Dear Members and Friends of Christ the King Lutheran Church,

After the counsel provided by our Synod Bishop, as well as medical and government authorities, and with the affirmation of the Christ the King Lutheran Church Congregation Council, we have decided that as of today, all public assemblies, including worship and smaller group meetings, are suspended until further notice. We are compelled by Christ’s command to love our neighbor as ourselves by joining in the effort to halt the spread of the Covid-19 virus and to stop the pandemic. At the same time, we are a faith community dedicated to being A Healing Place, uniquely theologically centered in the Lutheran tradition which holds that the church exists where the Word is proclaimed and the Sacraments are rightly administered. For us to keep all this together in this unique time of crisis, we are taking the following steps.
