Campus Ministry Fall Generosity Letter

Dear Members and Friends of Christ the King Lutheran Church,

God wants you to ask questions! Lutheran Campus Ministry at Rice University starts the academic year with a lot of spirit. We invite you to join us and to prayerfully consider upcoming activities for your own involvement in this ministry of our church:

  1. On Sunday, August 21, after worship, at the Rice Village Campus, Lutheran Campus Ministry at Rice will host lunch – a Move-In Taco Celebration. The proceeds of this fundraiser will positively impact the Fall-semester activities of this ministry. An anonymous parishioner is underwriting the expenses of this event. And an anonymous parishioner will match each plate sold dollar for dollar up to 150 plates. Come enjoy lunch for $10/plate (with vegan options available).
  2. On Saturday, September 3, students of Lutheran Campus Ministry at Rice will travel to St. James Family Life Center to learn about its ministry to immigrant families in Houston and to participate in a food distribution. You are invited to support their distribution by donating the following: cereal, oatmeal, beans, rice, peanut butter, canned fruits, canned mixed veggies, pastas, salt, sugar, flour, tuna, canned soup, macaroni, baby diapers, baby formula, and baby food. We are collecting these items now until September 1 in the church narthexes of the West Campus and Rice Village.
  3. In Late September, Lutheran Campus Ministry at Rice will host the first of our speaker series at Rice University. Our speaker series addresses big question matters in society and faith-filled responses. Look on our Instagram page (lcm_at_rice) and Christ the King website for exact time and date

Campus Ministry Generosity Pledge Form

Lutheran Campus Ministry at Rice accompanies students as they seek to make a difference in our world and seek connection with God and each other. Through opportunities of fellowship, speaker series, service and care in Houston, Lutheran Campus Ministry at Rice empowers students for thoughtful and impactful leadership. We invite you to consider the following question: How will I contribute my time, talent, and resources so that I may be a part of this transformative ministry at Rice University? If you know of any incoming undergraduate or graduate student, faculty, alumnus or you are any of these, invite them to the activities of this ministry and to join with us in asking questions, serving our local community, and growing in greater awareness of God’s presence in our lives.

Muy agradecido,
