Deacon Ben Remmert

Deacon Ben Remmert was called to serve as the Deacon of Children, Youth, and Family for Christ the King in July 2014. He previously served seven years as Director of Youth and Family Ministry at our sister congregations, Peace Lutheran Church in Pasadena, TX and St. Matthew Lutheran in Dubuque, IA. Before Youth and Family ministry, Deacon Ben served 12 summers of leading Camp Hope Day Camp Ministry before coming to Christ the King Church.
Ben grew up at Kinsmen Lutheran Church in north Houston. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Development and Family Studies with a minor in counseling from the University of North Texas in Denton. He earned his Master of Arts in Youth, Culture, and Mission from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. He is ordained by the ELCA as a Minister of Word and Service. Deacon Ben serves on a number of committees such as Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod (TLGCS) SYMBOL representative, TLGCS Candidacy Committee, and TLGCS Consultation Committee,
Ben loves riding his One Wheel around the neighborhood, playing disc golf, fishing, and spending his time with his wife Lindsay and children Asher and Mara. He’s an avid pop culture enthusiast and comic book collector, a fascination he’s enjoyed for over 30 years. His favorite comic book series is X-Men.
