Are You Interested in Membership with Christ the King Church?

We’ve necessarily been on a “hiatus” during this season of COVID regarding special in-person worship occasions like baptism, weddings, funerals, and other special events. While we have carefully moved toward conducting more of such occasions, we are mindful that many have expressed a desire to join as members or associate members of Christ the King Church. And some have joined without the public recognition we normally would celebrate.
If you are in either of these groups, take note that on May 23 – Pastor Duane’s final Sunday at CTK – we will receive and recognize new members at the Sunday service. What a grand statement that will be!
There are no “required courses” for those interested in membership and one is not required to be a member to benefit from any of the graces offered by God through Christ the King Church. A member is a person who simply wants to signify publicly that she or he stands and serves with the mission of Christ as practiced here at CTK. Oh, it does mean you can vote at official meetings. But, above all, members are those who, having been so drawn by the Holy Spirit into this community, our worship, our life together, and our active service to God’s world, offer their selves so to impel our mission forward.
So, if you are so drawn into aligning with who we are, what we stand for, and how we do it (even, as some have inquired, you are part of our extended online family at some geographical distance away!) do contact Pastor Duane (duanelarson@ctkelc.org) or any of the ministry staff soon, as we plan to “power onward” on Pentecost Sunday, May 23, with recognition of new members.
