Thursday, January 7, at 7:00 on Zoom
Dear Christ the King Church Members and Friends,
The past months have been troubling in many ways. Yesterday we were shocked and grieved by the extremist events in our national capitol, and many state capitols as well. Our simply human individual and collective need for peace and security was intentionally disrespected. Our democratic patriotic impulses were challenged. Our Christian faith was and is sorely tested. The powers and principalities of which St. Paul wrote seek anew to reduce Christian faith, hope, and love to the vulnerability of fear. We want to react. But we are called and guided above all to pray, for our own good: the good of each other, of our country, all nations, of Christ’s Body – the Church.
Obedient to Christ’s command to pray with love and to love prayerfully, Pastor Liebster, Deacon Erickson, and I invite you to join us this evening, Thursday, January 7, at 7:00 on the Zoom platform. It will be our opportunity for a devotional time together of readings and prayer, centered by The Great Litany. However and wherever you are, join us. We are Christ’s body, the Church. The Church, nation, and world need our prayers for their healing. So do we. Join us by way of this link.
We look forward to seeing you tonight for prayer in our life together.
Christ’s Peace is with you, Duane Larson
