Iftar Dinner: Register Now

An Iftar Dinner     Friday, June 16, 7:45 p.m.
Please email the church office to reserve your place by Tuesday, June 13.

A very special gift has been offered to Christ the King Church by our spiritual cousins of the Islamic Institute: a free and educational Iftar Dinner, here at Christ the King Church, on Friday, June 16, 7:45 p.m.

“Iftar” means “breaking of the fast” during Islam’s high holy days of Ramadan. We are invited to break the fast with our Muslim neighbors and, while so doing, learn more about an Iftar’s religious meaning, as well as more about Islam in general.

The meal will be limited to 35 Christ the King members; 35 participants from the Turkish Shia background of the Islamic Institute and Mosque will join us. The meal will be catered and free, hosted in the parish hall. Please email the church office to reserve your place by Tuesday, June 13

Because during Ramadan Muslims must fast from sunup to sunset, the program begins at 7:45 p.m. and the meal will be served around 8:30. If you are able, show your spiritual neighborliness to our hosts by fasting that day with them until the evening festivities begin. We are grateful indeed to The Islamic Institute for their great generosity!
