Gulf Coast Synod Hosting Houston Ecumenical Prayer Service

Thursday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church

Christ the King Church is the location for this year’s Ecumenical Prayer Service hosted by the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

Christians from at least eleven denominations and institutions will come together to pray for the unity of the church and our mission to the world. Given the theme of rescue and welcome to the stranded and lost in our world, Chaplain Tom Edwards of the Houston International Seafarers Center will deliver the sermon.

Bishop Mike Rinehart will speak words of welcome. Our choirs will join the Gospel Choir of Holy Family Catholic Church. We encourage all members and friends to attend the service on Thursday evening and show our usual Lutheran and Christ the King hospitality. There will be a reception in the narthex after the service.
