Wednesday Night Alive! beginning September 10

Christ the King Church’s Wednesday Night Alive! program will start on September 10. This is a night with something fun or interesting or educational to do for every age group. All are invited, especially new persons – individuals and families alike! Programs and activities run from 4:30 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. Dinner is served starting at 5:30 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. All classes and groups join together for a Vespers service in the nave at 7:00 p.m. Detailed schedules can be requested from the church office and will soon be online. Please take note of these classes:

Making Sense of the Christian Faith Pastor Moore will lead the study of “The Holy Spirit and Salvation” and “Sacraments and Devotional Practices” following Professor Bradley Hanson’s Introduction to Christian Theology (Fortress Press). Limited copies will be available for sale on the book cart in the narthex. It is available as e-book. The class meets 6:15 until 6:55 p.m. on Wednesdays in the 3rd floor conference room.

Dinner Dialogue with the Congregational Nurse Our congregational nurse Linda Schoene will facilitate table conversations every first Wednesday of the month. All interested are invited to join the informal ongoing conversation at any point from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m.: September 10: Youth Sports Injuries – What is the parental role?

Life Stories Resumes with a Lighter Touch The Life Stories Workshop resumes September 10 at 4:30 p.m. Learn to retrieve your memories and how to record them. Join this group in a relaxed setting that has helped understand our own histories, often by sharing them with one another. For further information contact Anna Fay Williams.

Church History Course Continued! Dr. Kristine Wallace will teach history of the Reformation in 16th century Europe into the 17th century with the Thirty Year War. The textbook is Justo L. Gonzalez The Story of Christianity Vol. II (2010). Limited copies will be available for sale on the book cart in the narthex. All are welcome! No previous study required, no exams, no papers!

Music for Babies on Wednesdays Babies and toddlers enjoy music and movement with their parents or caregivers on Wednesdays taught by Sonya Anderson using the Musikgarten method. All families with babies and toddlers are welcome to register. Class times are 5:45-6:15 p.m. for infants, 6:15-6:45 p.m. for toddlers. Siblings will be accommodated.

Wednesday Vespers Join us for a service of Vespers on Wednesday evenings in the nave at 7:00 p.m. throughout the Wednesday Night Alive! program. All members and friends of the congregation are invited to this centering evening time of prayer and song. The service will last 20 minutes.
