Veterans Day is November 11.
November 1-11 we pray, thank, and care for military service members and veterans. Their “journey home” is not complete until we whom they’ve served have our ears and hearts fully open and welcoming and supportive. Twenty-Two Service Member and veteran suicides a day show we’re not there yet.
On weekdays from November 1-8, at 8:30 a.m., a “prayer moment” will be held outside our nave at the corner of Rice and Greenbriar. At the conclusion each day, we’ll hang 22 symbolic dog tags on a special tree.
At 7:00 p.m. November 11, a Veterans Day Service of Thanksgiving and Intercession will be held in the nave, open to the wider community.
