Something for everyone is happening this weekend at Christ the King Church

Something for everyone is happening this weekend at Christ the King Church. Hope to see you here!

Saturday, August 13: Creation Fest: Environmental Extravaganza from 9:30-4. Bring the entire family to this free environmental educational offering with activities for all ages.  Adults can attend interactive lectures by a variety of experts, from anthropologists to zoologists.  Kids can enjoy meeting live education animals, seeing films, and other fun activities.  Nursery care for kids under 5 will be provided upon request.  Exhibits by local environmental nonprofits will offer more opportunities to learn and engage.

Saturday, August 13, 6:00 pm. Taize Worship, always profound and beautiful, this service with Prayers and Anointing for Healing.

Sunday, 9:45 am: Special Adult Forum, especially informative for parents of preschoolers, in the basement classroom.  Diane Schoppe will present information gleaned from the book, The Importance of Being Little: What Preschoolers Really Need from Grownups, by Erika Christakis.  The nursery will be open for our babies and toddlers and there will be an activity for older children in the children’s library area on the second floor.

10:00 am: Organ mini-recital in the nave, by our own Christopher Holman

10:50 am: Worship, special guest preacher Bishop Samuel Ndanga-Toue´ of the Evangelical Lutheran of the Church Central African Republic; reception following (Pastor Larson will preach and preside at the 8:30 service).

7:30 pm: Young Adult Pub Theology, with Pastor Larson at The Ginger Man Pub, on Morningside. College students and Young Adults are encouraged to gather over a brew and conversation, and to talk about our future together for this next year!
