Cherryhurst Bikes! event on September 21, 2013

Despite the inclement weather which forced the Cherryhurst Bikes! event on Sept. 21st to be scaled back (none of the outdoor activities could take place), 169 people attended. As an event sponsor, Christ the King was responsible for much of the publicity. Nearly half those who attended were not regular bike riders, so the event’s mission to educate and encourage bike riding in Houston among those not currently doing so was a success. Surveys indicated a very positive response among attendees, with all indicating that they would like the event to be repeated in future. Positive comments regarding the organizations sponsoring the event were also received in the survey. Attendees were able to attend a class about safe cycling in an urban environment, as well as other classes, and information was available for a number of local organizations (such as Metro, pictured below) relevant to cycling in Houston.
