A Multi-Religious Weekend

On Saturday, April 22, The River Oaks Islamic Center invites the community, including all members of Christ the King Lutheran Church, to an open house and BBQ from Noon to 7:00 p.m. Drop in any time, enjoy great hospitality, take a tour, and learn a bit about the faith and life of our nearest Muslim neighbors. A special invitation is extended to the CTK Young Adults to meet with the Islamic Center’s Young Professionals Group to make new friends and discuss possibilities for common mission. The CTK YAs will meet at 5:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church to carpool over as a group.

Sunday, April 23, is Yom HaShoah, the Jewish Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust. The congregation is invited to join the local Jewish community for the Day of Remembrance Service at Congregation Beth Israel, 5600 N. Braeswood Blvd., at 3:00 p.m. (note corrected time) CTK Young Adults are invited to attend this service together, too, after which to join Pastor Duane for discussion and dinner at a place to be named later.
